The plaque commemorates the STS-79 Mir-22 missions, with small Russian and American flags, a scenic view with two clasped hands in the center, and the Mission numbers in Russian and English. Also in the photo are (l.-r.) astronaut John Blaha, Mission specialists Tom Akers and Carl Walz and Mir-22 flight engineer Alexander Kaleri. Photos were taken in the Mir Base Block.
