The astroculture hardware is a self-contained apparatus that is designed to easily fit into a empty middeck-locker space. This unit is designed to automatically regulate environmental variables providing a life-supporting habitat for plant growth. Controls to adjust light and dark time periods, gas exchange, water delivery, temperature and relative humidity are used to regulate the photosynthesis processes while in microgravity.
