BTS Facility

Biotechnology System (BTS) facility on the Mir Space Station. The BTS facility is designed to provide a facility to conduct biotechnology experiments such as tissue culture, protein crystal growth, and fundamental biotechnology investigations in microgravity. The facility consists of six modules, four of which are contiguous and house the facility, the two additional modules are for passive stowage. However, the modules are designed for easy changeout.
