Biotechnology System (BTS) Facility Operations

Biotechnology System (BTS) gas supply module on the Mir Space Station. The BTS unit is designed to provide a facility to conduct biotechnology experiments such as tissue culture, protein crystal growth, and fundamental biotechnology investigations in microgravity. The BTS gas supply module consists of gas pressure gauges, gas outlet ports, and gas supply valves. The gas supply module provides the necessary gas to support cell growth cultures.
