Johnson Space Center at 40 Years Imagery

S94-032549 --- This 4.5-billion-year-old rock, labeled meteorite ALH84001, is believed to have once been a part of Mars and to contain fossil evidence that primitive life may have existed on Mars more than 3.6 billion years ago. JSC's Earth Science and Solar System Exploration Division within the Space and Life Sciences Directorate conducts frontier, world-class research in Earth space and planetary science; carries out scientific investigations on NASA missions; gives authoritative science and technology support to NASA and worldwide programs; and communicates NASA science to professional peers, to educators, and to the public.
