Yuri Onufriyenko

Yuri Onufriyenko was the commander of the Mir-21 mission, which lasted from February 21, 1996, until September 2, 1996. He and Mir-21 Flight Engineer Yury Usachev greeted Mir astronaut Shannon Lucid when she boarded the station for her residency. Lucid's mission began with the launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis on March 22, 1996, and ended when she returned to Earth on September 26, 1996.
